Pickering put me exactly where I needed to be for this trip — close enough to my plans that I never felt like the resort was an afterthought bolted onto the day. I rolled in buzzing, suitcase still humming from the road, and the building rose up like a weekend already in progress.
One small delight landed harder than I expected: how generously the room seemed to breathe. Guests talk about big king rooms and comfortable beds, and stepping inside I felt that same lift — space to stretch, light pooling across the floor, a view that made me pause with the curtain cord still in my hand.
Night notes
Night-time told a more layered story. The bed cradled me beautifully, but corridors can carry energy when groups are in — something other travellers mention with hockey teams and busy halls. My own night was mostly calm with a soft murmur far off; I slept, woke once, and drifted back under cool sheets.
Arrival itself is part of the theatre. The approach feels polished and new, the entrance bright, the first impression of the building all clean lines and resort confidence. I would come back for a birthday weekend or any celebration that wants a lively casino floor downstairs and a spacious room to retreat to upstairs.
